The Paddy Trading Platform (PTP) was established in 2016 as part of the Support to Commercialization of Cambodian Rice Project (SCCRP) to establish and strengthen links between Farmer Organizations (FO) and private sector buyers of paddy rice in Cambodia in order for them to fulfill their roles as economic stakeholders in the rice value chain. The PTP is a business matchmaking instrument that complements other instruments with the overall goal of assisting the growth of the rice value-chain in general, and specifically Cambodian farmers in realizing economic benefits from rice market development.
There are already 94 Farmer Organizations (FOs) registered as users in the PTP system, with 32 of them posting notices about their anticipated harvests and capacity to produce paddy. Ninety-two of these 94 FOs are members of at least one national FO Federation (FAEC, FCFD, or FWN), which provides them with assistance and backstopping to assure the quality and trustworthiness of the information supplied.
This software is designed for millers, intermediaries, farmers, and agricultural cooperatives to use in order to make announcements, news, and see historical data all on a mobile device.
